Agree with Autotunafish, pretty much. Although the author does quote one so-called expert conceding that some people just want privacy for privacy’s sake:
“Some people just do it for privacy reasons,” says Knottenbelt.

Couched as a blackmail scenario resolved through extortion, I would say the latter. For this reason and uncountable others, it’s never good to have single points of failure. If one developer can code and maintain a wallet, I don’t understand why Zcash can’t produce one from within the organization.
