Can I get a reply from someone? I reinstalled everthing and made backup of everything, including a walled.bak file I had without a wallet.dat. I tried to restore after reinstalling but it doesn’t accept it and automatically makes a wallet.dat file.
Don’t have access to the coins, am I screwed?
ok, what happens when you drop the original wallet file back in as wallet.dat and then start it?
There should be error messages in %AppData%\Zcash\debug.log, which will be a big file, but you want what’s at the end
I only have a wallet.1498177406.bak, changing it to wallet.dat and replacing the empty wallet.dat gives me this an error in a popup: couldn’t connect to server EOF reached code1.

If i run it again it works fine but shows an empty wallet and a different address
ok that is not good, this has happened 2 or 3 times with users on linux too, exact errors…do you have an older backup of the wallet.dat because this copy is corrupted (or your private keys backed up in a text file)?
Because if not that wallet.dat file is trashed and your ZEC is gone 
Hi i have encounter this error while doing sending transaction
you can only enter a memo field when it is a t->z or z->z transaction, not a t->t or z->t one, which is what the last line of that error messages means.
Hi i never put any memo. i was trying to send to zec to another address. any advise on that?
Can you post or PM me a screenshot of the send screen then (if you are concerned about people seeing your address(s))?
Like what it is like right before you click “send”, because that error should only happen if you are sending to a taddr and there is a memo entry (a space in it maybe?)
what happend if if the blockchain sync is 100%?
once it syncs all the way to 100%, as long as you leave it running it uses very little resources and should just stay caught up all the time

If not, I already found a miner that allows using GPU and is CPU safe. I just need ZEC address.
I searched everywhere on z.cash but there was no sign of any signup or login to get a ZEC address.

Zcash4win is the wallet to get a Zcash address
under “my addresses” you can see the one it autogenerates, or add additional ones too as needed/wanted

complete.

Hi All - For some reason I’m not able to get my blockchain fully synchronized. It seems to stop at 77.06%. I even tried wiping out the blockchain files and starting over. It stopped around the same place. I haven’t seen any progress in over 4 hours (probably longer). Any ideas on how to get past this? No transactions are showing up because the blockchain is so old…
Tried to open wallet today and it does not work, no error. Reinstalling it didnt help.
