Zcash mining hardware comparison

Intel Core i3-5005U / Ubuntu 16.04 / nheqminer v3 = 8.5 Sol/s
Gigabyte Rx 480 8GB / Arch / AMDGPU-Pro 16.30 / SilentArmy v5 = 77-79 Sol/s

Intel Core i5 3570k / Windows 10 64bits / NiceHash Miner v1.7.3.3 = 12-15 Sol/s

For now only CPU, IĀ“ waiting for 2 GPU Gigabyte Radeon RX 470 G1 Gaming 4Gb, need change fancooler of CPU because can reach over 100Ā°C while is mining!!

I have no value in Sol, i use Claymore Client
Up to 100 on each R9 390X

Are you using xenoncat instead of tromp and -t 4 for 4 threads? Thatā€™s a good 1.76 W per S/s (or less) for that processor. Iā€™m just wondering if that 14 nm 15 W CPU can do better. Is is 1 or two RAM cards and are they 1333 or 1600 (12800 on the label)?

Are you using -t 4 for threads? I get 16 S/s out of itā€™s brother i5-3470s at only 2.9 GHz where yours is 3.8 GHz. Iā€™m using ubuntu xenoncat CPU option. Do you have two of the 2 or 4 GB DDR 1600? I bet youā€™ve got DDR3 1333 or are using only 1 slot.

The DDR3 1600 limit on this CPU is slowing it down. Otherwise it would be capable of 35 S/s. I bet this is the limit for DDR3 1600.

GPU memory buses are 8x faster, so GPUā€™s should be capable of 200 S/s if they were as efficienct as the CPU algorithm. Since the experts here are not able to max out their wattage on the GPU cores, the GPU memory bus must be saturated. The devs seem to need to parallelize the code on more cores to increase watt and use the memory bus less.

Did you oc your 390x? what version youve got?
after your post i try chose between xfx rx480 gtr and msi r9 390.

Please, all submit your card info at www.miningspeed.com, so we have a datrabase of all zcash mining speedsā€¦

I have 4 memory modules of 4Gb RAM, but 2 modules are DDR3 1333, I use the -t 4. The CPU reaches the 100ĀŗC, is that very risk? I use a stock cooler!!

MSI Gaming X RX 470: 60H/s Windows 10, claymoreā€™s v4. Same everything but for R9 390, 80H/s.

My R7 370ā€™s are getting 45 sol/s on EthOS with new sa-solver and silentminer updates. If you havenā€™t already I suggest upgrading to 1.1.4 and then updating sa-solver and silentminer.

I donā€™t think a CPU can survive 100 C. I think the typical limit is 90 C and mine run at 70 C (stock)

Miner: Silent Army v5 & NiceHash.
OS: Windows 7 64 bit.

i5 2500 - 9 sols (locked at -2).
i7 4790k - 20 sols (locked at -2).
GTX 980 Ti FTW 55 Sols.
2x HD7950 vapor-x 65 - 70 sols each.

Uhmm, I think better use 2 instead of 4. Maybe using the 4, makes the processor much hot. How mucho thread you active with your CPU? Thx soo much!!

You should check your thermal paste and cooler. Not even Furmark should push it to those temps.

80c is high let alone 100c

You have right, tomorrow I going to check that! With 2 threads, stills reaches 100Ā°C

Yes I did the upgrade, it was great! My hash rate has pretty much doubled since I started zcash mining. Shame about the price of the coin now though!

Yes, 4 xenoncat threads. Itā€™s with 1 4GB RAM card 1600 (Hynix hmt451s6bfr8a-pbn0) so probably can do more with second card installed.

Somethings wrong with the cooling of your CPU that needs fixing. Either the fax is way too slow, itā€™s being overclocked (maybe you got it used from someone else), and it does not have any heat-sink ā€œgreaseā€ between the CPU and heat sink.

If you used another RAM that CPU might be the most efficient ( watts per S/s) Zcash miner weā€™ve seen. (1.34 W per S/s is the record with a GPU)
