I'm a dev. What's still missing in the Zcash ecosystem?

@matteo if you have C++ chops and want to help get native Zcash on Windows, the forum post with the link to the setup for my port (it builds all dependencies with the bitcoin-inherited depends system, since I added a mingw64 builder  ) is at:

Something like OpenBazaar, anonyme peer to peer shop

I’ve wondered how feasible it might be to add zcash support to OpenBazaar

create something like OpenBazaar, no add zcash to OpenBazaar…

what’s wrong with OpenBazaar in your opinion? I haven’t used it before myself, but have known Ian Grigg (one of the people who came up with ideas it uses) for years, so I’m honestly curious. also, adding a coin to it would be a lot less work than redoing something like it from scratch, and would take advantage of network effects in adoption

I take ZCash directly through coinpayments.net, works great

Efficient open source miner is missing like I said before launch.

Electrum, My Ether Wallet and coinb.in (for eg:) allow offline signing of transactions which allows cold storage wallets to be used securely. I’d particularly like to do this with Zcash t_addresses and being able to prepare a z_address transaction this way and broadcast it to the network anonymously would be even better.

Like syscoin project ?

They claim they’ll release the first anonymous decentralized market place, integrating zcash payments …

Here are 3 sources that helped me out to step into the topic of blockchain.

Hi AnorakSupra https://forum.zcashcommunity.com/users/anoraksupra ,

Am so so grateful. Have been mining zec, from the 3rd day and have not
reached 1zec till date, though am basically doing a high end cpu mining.

Am from Africa, and got into crpto toward the 3rd quarter of this year, but
i have set a tall order ambition for myself, for 2017, have decided to
build the possible largest cryto farm in my country to mine altcoins and
grow into bitcoin.
So I need all the knowledge required to succeed. Want to Start a mini pilot
with GPUs, Just placed order for my cards, psu, memory, boards etc, targeting
about 15gpus for a start, all amd card, Rx 470 majorly.
If you have any further advice for me I will appreciate. Crpto is just
coming up here, and the potential is huge,

Thanks

Well mining Bitcoin is out of the game I guess.
But for Altcoins, there might still be potential.

Honestly, I see mining as a hobby.

If you want to go large scale, you have to invest a sack full of gold, which you have to streal from a dwarf with a green hat and a red long nose.

For GPU mining get the RX480 8GB cards.
A lot more profit for only a litte more costs on hardware.

@Anoraksupra,
I enjoy your reply. Well my motivation are basically I can get cheap
electricity and solar. Secondly, a do receive a lot of request for the
purchase of bitcoin locally for all kind of transactions.

I will follow your advice and look for Rx 480 8GB, even if on ebay…lol,
want to order Balkai quadruple miner for x11/x13/etc, am really interested
beyond hobby, but how to “steal from a dwarf with a green hat and a red
long nose” is what am thinking about…any idea…lol?

:joy: Ek dink hierdie ding is hopeloos.

I think all coins which you can mine with a ASIC like X11 or all the SHA265 coins etc, are nor profitable for private or small businesses. If you want to compete there, then you will have to go on the hunt for this dwarf.

But the GPU minable coins stay close to the private miners.
Just build a small rig with 12 or 24 GPUs, and see what your options might be after 1 month of mining.

Anorak,

Am most grateful, for your insightful advice. This pilot work consist of
about 15 GPUs.
Will see how it Pans out.
I think I will need to do a global scan for this dwarf guy…lol

Thanks, I enjoy conversing with you.

Can you advice with altcoins I should set my hands on to mind first from
your experience?.

Always the most profitable, this is at least what I do.
Others just stick to the one coin they believe in.

Have a look at https://www.whattomine.com

There you can calculate approximate mining speeds, and that the final profit would be per day.
