Bram Cohen’s post on bitcoin-dev list, about ongoing POWA discussion:

Note the last sentence and his convicted tone about equihash :

There are two ways to go with a PoW, either make it
as advantaged on custom hardware as possible, which means sha3, or make it
as difficult to ASIC as possible, which at this point means cuckoo since
there’s already hardware for equihash.

A statement like that requires some supporting references. I sure don’t see it in the network hash rate/difficulty, at this point. If the custom HW isn’t for general sale, then the private developer/miner would be taking over a substantial portion of the network to get a return on their investment in ASIC development. Maybe Bram (mistakenly) thinks PandaMiner is an ASIC??
